Resolves legal issues and offers proactive, business‑savvy counsel while managing complex matters and supervising outside counsel on select issues. Anticipates internal and external regulatory concerns, reviews and revises legal documents, negotiates contractual disputes, and trains clients on legal topics, keeping them informed of status updates.

Requires a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, a license to practice law in at least one U.S. state, and five or more years of relevant experience. Candidates must demonstrate personal integrity, a commitment to diversity, autonomous work ability, strong business acumen, logical legal reasoning, and the capacity to balance legal and business considerations under time pressure.
Preferred candidates have experience in the utility or other regulated industries, a background in law firms or publicly traded corporations, and familiarity with health‑and‑safety laws, emergency response, and business continuity. Typically 4–6 years of specialized experience is expected.
Employees may be required to work outside normal hours, support emergency operations, and travel, ensuring continuous utility service. Overtime is expected, and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
