What you would be doing

Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignment are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
Review of quantity and cost estimates for completeness and accuracy

Preparation of technical specifications, special provisions and forms of tender.
Exercise judgement limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

Equipment selection and liaison with equipment suppliers and vendors.
Actively engage in professional development and industry events
Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Prepare technical reports and analysis to support project assignments.
Undertake preliminary and detailed engineering design activities under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
Work independently and as part of a team to complete water and wastewater infrastructure assignments.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Process) + minimum 2 years experience with municipal water/wastewater treatment plant or equivalent experience
Capable of using spreadsheet, work processing and standard office software
Demonstrated communication skills through publications or presentations, and work
Experience with project management concepts, principles, and duties
Eligibility for registration in APEGA as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is required
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, AutoCAD, BioWin, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)
Possess the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines across multiple projects
