  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-coordinated work environment within the factory.
  • Support student engagement and workforce development efforts in partnership with the Boulder Valley School District.
  • Ensure all construction meets or exceeds applicable codes, safety standards, and HFHI guidelines.
  • Coordinate with the Volunteer Manager to align skilled volunteer labor with project needs.
  • Ensure alignment between project execution and organizational goals, timelines, and funding streams.
  • Oversee procurement of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure scheduling, material procurement, and staffing support factory production timelines and quality standards.
  • Supervise all warranty work, inspections, and homeowner walk-throughs.
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting for construction, infrastructure, and land development initiatives.
  • Leverage in-kind donations and pro bono labor whenever possible.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and board committees to develop long-range plans for construction and land development.
  • Oversee general contractors, subcontractors, and site supervisors to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all grant and contract requirements related to construction activities.
  • Uphold construction quality, safety, and Habitat standards in all aspects of factory operations.
  • Direct the planning, scheduling, and execution of new home construction, both onsite and in the BoulderMOD factory.
  • Manage site selection, due diligence, and acquisition in coordination with staff and board.
  • Ensure that volunteer groups and Habitat homebuyers have meaningful and appropriate opportunities to contribute to the modular homebuilding process within the factory setting.
  • Attend industry conferences and training to stay current with best practices and innovations in affordable housing and modular construction.
  • Serve as staff liaison to the construction and land development committees.
  • Lead and collaborate with factory leadership to integrate modular home construction into the broader homebuilding pipeline.
  • Identify and evaluate potential development opportunities, including land acquisition and new construction sites.
  • Liaise with city and county agencies, civil engineers, and architects to ensure projects meet local zoning and building requirements.
  • Provide leadership development and mentorship to construction team members.
  • Approve all construction-related invoices.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate pricing and contracts.
  • Monitor in-kind contributions and maintain accurate valuation records.
  • Track and report on project progress, schedules, and budgets.
  • Lead infrastructure development, including roads, drainage, and utility installation.
  • Ensure a positive and inclusive work environment for volunteers, staff, and homebuying families.
  • Represent Flatirons Habitat in meetings with municipal partners, neighborhood associations, and other stakeholders.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise construction staff and volunteer crew leaders, with support from other staff including volunteer coordinator and COO.

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, planning, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and strategic planning abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software; experience with construction management platforms preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Valid General Contractor Certification, class C or higher. Able to be licensed in Boulder, Colorado
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in residential construction, land development, or project management.
  • Familiarity with affordable housing development, zoning, entitlements, and energy-efficient building practices is a plus.
  • Experience with modular construction and factory-built housing preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong working knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, site planning, and construction safety standards; * Experience building in Boulder, Colorado.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, including experience supervising staff, contractors, and volunteers.
