  • Preparation of Stormwater Management Plans.
  • Review all design documentation prepared and ensure that it is correct, suitable for construction and in accordance with all relevant standards and legislation and complies with all the requirements of the Quality System Management Systems (QMS).
  • Ensure prompt and courteous responses to all enquiries and correspondence from clients.
  • Site inspections to assess project requirements and occasional inspection of construction works.
  • Hydrological analysis of stormwater catchments.
  • Report to and assist/advise the supervising directors and senior staff, with regard to all aspects of civil engineering undertaken by the firm throughout the state, including bid preparation, design documentation and project supervision.
  • Contract administration, including; tender preparation, site meetings, site inspections, instructions/advice to contractors, clients and directors, recommendation regarding contract variations and claims, calculation of value of completed works, etc.
  • Executing tasks within assigned timeframes and budgets.
  • Hydraulic/Hydrological modelling and detailed design of stormwater system in DRAINS.
  • Liaise with local authorities/utilities to effectively deliver outcomes for our clients/projects, including TasWater, TasNetworks, Telstra, NBN Co. and local government.
  • Carry out and supervise engineering design, preparation of drawings and contract documentation of civil engineering works, including schedules of quantities and cost estimation.
  • Preliminary design of stormwater networks in Civil Site Design.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high standard of presentation in the preparation of all engineering documentation.
  • Provide assistance to other Engineering design staff as required.

We are looking for a Civil Engineer who specialises in the field of hydraulics/stormwater to join our team in our Hobart head office. The successful applicant is someone who is willing and able to relocate permanently to Tasmania.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (preferably in Australia)
  • Work effectively and harmoniously as part of the engineering team.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, BricsCAD, QGIS or similar GIS software
  • 3-5+ years relevant experience in Civil and/or Hydraulic design
  • A Chartered Member (CPEng) of Engineers Australia or eligible or RPEQ
  • Experience using: Civil Site Design, DRAINS, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS or similar design software
  • 2D Modelling of flooding in TUFLOW, HEC-RAS or similar software.
  • Working knowledge of ARR and local/service authority design standards
