The Business Processes team seeks a Manufacturing Automation Engineer who will develop cutting‑edge automation and integration solutions using Python to make aircraft and component manufacturing smarter, faster, and more efficient. The role involves embedding with operational teams for focused sprints while handling quick‑turn requests across the company, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to translate complex manufacturing challenges into elegant software.
- Design and implement software solutions that reduce cycle times across manufacturing, supply chain, and quality operations.

- Embed with operational teams to understand workflows and develop tools that eliminate bottlenecks and manual processes.
- Create intuitive interfaces for technicians, engineers, and operators to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while responding to urgent automation needs that unblock critical paths.
- Establish automated tracking and reporting systems to ensure parts and processes meet exacting standards with reduced manual effort.
- Balance deep‑dive project work with rapid‑prototype automation requests.
- Work onsite at BETA facilities in South Burlington, VT with local travel between sites.

- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Plex) and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Background in industrial engineering, process optimization, or lean manufacturing.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of PLM systems and CAD data management in manufacturing.
- Ability to quickly learn new domains and become productive in unfamiliar technical environments.
- Pilot certificate or demonstrated passion for aviation and sustainable transportation.
Benefits
The position is onsite at BETA’s South Burlington, Vermont facilities, with occasional local travel between sites and work in both office and manufacturing‑floor environments. Compensation ranges from $80,000 to $110,000 annually, based on skills, experience, and other factors, with a commitment to fair and equitable pay.
