The position’s primary purpose is to ensure that scheduled and emergency response calls are answered promptly. Field technicians are responsible for clean‑ups, spills, COVID and hazmat decontamination, and other duties delegated by management within the scope of work.
Technicians perform remediation of hazardous waste under the direct guidance of a supervisor or foreman. Health and safety are the top priority, requiring compliance with all safe work practices, policies, and processes. Daily tasks include confined‑space entry, manhole and tank cleaning, oil‑spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, high‑pressure washing, sweeping, shoveling, and other remedial activities. Employees must be able to work rotating shifts—including days, nights, weekends, and holidays—participate in an on‑call rotation, and travel as needed.
The role demands the ability to work in adverse heat or cold conditions, wear required personal protective equipment, and routinely lift more than 50 lbs. Punctuality, accountability, and the performance of additional related tasks as assigned are essential. Candidates must pass a pre‑employment physical, drug screen, background check, auto‑insurance qualifiers, OSHA HAZWOPER 40‑hour training, and obtain a Transportation Worker (TWIC) clearance if required.
Applicants must be able to read, write, and understand English and follow verbal and written instructions. A valid driver’s license is required.
