Summer Intern, Strategic Analysis & Forecasting

Description

• Help conduct aviation industry research, data analyses, and prepare activity forecasts
• Design surveys for internal and external users to understand usage of current dashboards, reports, and analyses
• Use data analysis and visualization tools to analyze and derive insights from aviation datasets
• Create dashboards in Power BI to replace PDF reporting for the Unit's Annual Traffic Report and for other internal analytical use cases
• Develop data models in Power BI to support various data analysis and visualization tasks

Requirements

• Major in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Engineering, Statistics, Information Systems, Data Analytics or related discipline
• Enrollment at a college or university at the time of the internship
• Experience working with both qualitative and quantitative data
• Ability to opt in to the New York State and Local Retirement System
• In accordance with Port Authority policy, this position permits interns to work remotely a maximum of one day per week. In person collaboration is essential to how the Port Authority conducts business and regular in-office days or team collaboration days may be required depending on business needs. Some internships may require interns to be fully in-person.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI or another related data visualization or dashboard tool
