- Manage site selection, due diligence, and acquisition in coordination with staff and board.
- Supervise all warranty work, inspections, and homeowner walk-throughs.
- Ensure all construction meets or exceeds applicable codes, safety standards, and HFHI guidelines.
- Provide leadership development and mentorship to construction team members.
- Ensure all construction-related invoices are approved and properly designated.
- Leverage in-kind donations and pro bono labor whenever possible.
- Coordinate with the Volunteer Services Manager to align skilled volunteer labor with project needs.

- Monitor in-kind contributions and maintain accurate valuation records.
- Support tax credit applications and other grant opportunities as needed.
- Direct the planning, scheduling, and execution of new home construction and home improvement and repair projects in coordination with the Director of New Construction and the Director of Home Improvement.
- Recruit, train, and supervise construction staff and volunteer crew leaders, with support from other staff including Volunteer Services Manager.
- Ensure compliance with all grant and contract requirements related to construction activities.
- Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate pricing and contracts.
- Ensure that the Director of New Construction and the Director of Home Improvement are effectively overseeing contractors, subcontractors, and site supervisors to make certain work is completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Oversee site plans, utility coordination, and permitting processes.
- Ensure a positive and inclusive work environment for volunteers, staff, and homebuying families.
- Uphold construction quality, safety, and Habitat standards at all build sites.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and board committees to develop long-range plans for construction and land development.
- Serve as staff liaison to the construction and site selection committees.
- Track and report on project progress, schedules, and budgets.
- Oversee procurement of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Liaise with city and county agencies, civil engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure projects meet local zoning and building requirements.
- Represent Santa Fe Habitat in meetings with municipal and county partners, developers, organizational and community collaborators, and other stakeholders.
- Identify and evaluate potential development opportunities, including land acquisition and new construction sites.
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting for construction, infrastructure, and land development initiatives. Prepare and update monthly the six month cash flow projections.
- Lead infrastructure development, including roads, drainage, and utility installation.
- Attend industry conferences and training to stay current with best practices and innovations in affordable housing.

- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
- Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in residential construction, land development, or project management.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, including experience supervising staff, contractors, and volunteers.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Proven experience with land acquisition and development process.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, planning, or a related field preferred.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software; experience with construction management platforms helpful.
- Strong working knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, site planning, and construction safety standards; * Experience building in Santa Fe, NM desirable.
- Experience managing multiple projects at different phases of construction.
- Strong organizational and strategic planning abilities.
- Familiarity with affordable housing development, zoning, entitlements, and energy-efficient building practices is a plus.
