Geotechnical Department Manager

To serve as a Geotechnical Department Manager you will be responsible for overseeing geotechnical engineering operations, leading a team of engineers and professional, setting goals, managing budgets/ financial metrics, maintain daily operations, and monitoring performance. The department manager will also be tasked with developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and productivity. Key duties include hiring, training, performance evaluation, and addressing issues with the department.

• Work with clients to ensure projects are meeting their goals and needs, then communicate necessary adjustments to managements, teams and owners.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with team members to interact with them on projects.
• Collaborate with Certerra management and other team to prioritize projects, workloads and needs.
• Model appropriate professional standards, mentor junior staff and other team members as necessary.
• Engage in appropriate professional development to enhance performance and to gain or maintain certifications.
• Work within team to resolve internal conflicts and avoid escalation of issues.

Requirements

• Professional Engineering License is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering operations and project management.
• Attention to detail
• Experience in team building and employee development.
• Minimum BS in Civil Engineering. Masters preferred
• Financial management and budgeting knowledge.
• Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
