Lead and manage the North American component of the annual US GAAP external audit.
Support external service providers with US and Canadian Income tax filings and state/local tax research.
Oversee and manage all daily accounting operations, including general ledgers (SAGE), Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll (PayCor).
Develop, implement, and maintain robust accounting and finance policies, procedures, and internal controls, ensuring an adequate system of internal controls over financial reporting is operating effectively.
Review and manage all balance sheet account reconciliations using FloQast.
Champion process re-engineering and simplification initiatives within the department and across the enterprise.
Partner with functional and business unit leaders to analyze and explain business results (actual vs. budget) and assess risks and opportunities.
Manage and support annual insurance renewals (general liability, workers comp, cyber, etc.) and coordinate annual surety bond renewals.
Manage and ensure compliance with all state and local tax filings (Personal Property, Sales, Use Tax) and government/statutory reporting.
Manage the full monthly close cycle for all North American entities, ensuring strict adherence to timelines and continuously enhancing the record-to-report process timeliness and accuracy.
Manage all lender reporting (borrowing base compilation, reporting, and compliance).
Prepare and review entity-level P&L’s and Balance Sheets, and prepare Management Discussion & Analysis (MDA) for North American entities.
Oversee the 401k annual audit and Form 5500R filing, including calculating the annual Company Match True-Up.
Provide the Enterprise Leadership Team (ELT) with timely, accurate, and actionable data to drive effective decision-making.
Lead, manage, and mentor the North American accounting team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
Oversee North American daily cash management, banking administration, and approval of disbursements.

Leadership: Experience building, leading, and managing a high-performing, cohesive team. Must have a player/coach mindset, capable of hands-on execution and strategic thinking.
CPA and/or MBA preferred.
Industry: Significant experience in the distribution industry preferred.
Public accounting experience (Big 4 or national firm) preferred, as well as private industry experience.
Experience with inventory in an industry with multiple lines of business and many SKUs.
Expert level skills in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
Other: Significant experience in a large, international firm experiencing significant growth and change; comfortable operating in a fast-paced, global environment.
Physical Demands: Mostly sedentary work, requiring repetitive hand and wrist motions. Must be able to maintain proper posture and lift, pull, or maneuver up to 25lbs.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
Significant experience preparing P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and in-depth knowledge of existing, proposed, and newly codified US GAAP (Expert level).
Experience with consolidating foreign operations, including a thorough understanding of foreign currency transactions, translation, and remeasurements.
Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of general accounting experience, with at least 5 years of experience managing a team.
Experience assisting and supporting ERP system transitions.
Working knowledge of general ledgers (SAGE) and ERP systems (Advanced).
