Prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations for review by team leaders prior to submission to clients concerning the structures.
Verify field dimension including vertical and horizontal field control for structures.
Verify compliance with applicable regulations controlling work including CAL/OSHA and SWPPP.
Ensure conformance with standards, established engineering practices, applicable codes and technical adequacy of design and construction.
Performing calculations for acceptance of temporary structures as used in construction of bridges and structures including falsework, temporary shoring, working platforms, temporary supports.
Ensure compliance with the construction contract requirements and shop drawing prepared by contractor.
Inspects construction progress which may include ensuring procedures and materials comply with specifications; observes work in progress to assure conformance with requirements and acceptable workmanship.
General office administration, including report reproduction, collation and deliveries will also be expected.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.

Associate degree in a technical discipline or construction-related field, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience, is required.

Well-defined knowledge of construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, process, methods, and techniques.
Experience with bridge deck rehabilitation methods, retaining walls, concrete and steel bridge construction and bridge maintenance and retrofits is essential for this role.
Analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.
Experience on Caltrans structures projects is preferred.
