Field technicians spend most of their time outdoors wearing a hard hat, collecting data and performing a full range of duties. Projects include preparing and calibrating glassware, deploying and testing equipment, breaking down and demobilizing gear, recording test results on datasheets, and practicing safety procedures.
Candidates need a high‑school diploma up to a bachelor’s degree and may come from laborer, construction, industrial maintenance, mechanical, laboratory, environmental or field‑science backgrounds. The role requires up to 70 % travel, weekend work, climbing to elevated platforms (50–300 ft), lifting up to 50 lb, a valid driver’s license, ability to pass background and drug screens, and a COVID‑19 vaccination is strongly preferred.
