Work closely with other disciplines (civil/structural, electrical, I&C, etc.) on the engineering design and layout of facilities.
Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
Support in the development of the engineering team by building internal tools and processes.
Support in the preparation and coordination of mechanical design packages.
Support the design and layout of mechanical equipment and systems for mostly balance of plant scope of work for new and existing nuclear facilities.
Prepare design deliverables (engineering drawings, P&ID’s, quantity take-offs, etc.) in accordance with industry standards, internal Kiewit standards and client standards.
Contribute to technical proposals with scope definition and specification development while coordinating with other disciplines.
Participate in design reviews and customer review meetings, as needed.
Apply ‘safety by design’ and ‘human factor principles’ when supporting design activities.
Occasional travel to client site for walk downs and recording as built condition.
Prepare designs and drawings in 2D and 3D environments such as AutoCAD, CADWorx, Revit, etc.
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.

The ideal candidate will have exposure to mechanical equipment found in Nuclear facilities (including turbines, pressure vessels, valves, piping etc.)
Ability to handle multiple priorities with attention to detail.
Experienced with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, CADWorx, etc.
Experience working with 3D scans is an asset.
Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Familiarity with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel codes and standards
Familiarity with clients Engineering Change Control (ECC) process
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Proficient with English, French is an asset.
Demonstrated experience in the design and layout of mechanical systems considering the following:
3-8+ years of relevant experience in the design and layout of mechanical systems for industrial or nuclear projects.
Familiarity with CSA Nuclear codes and standards
