  • Performing chemical transfers from one means of containment to another.
  • Assisting in ensuring all Emergency Response equipment is operationally ready. This includes maintenance, inspections, documentation, upgrading and servicing our department’s equipment.
  • Upholding and helping ensure GFL’s high level of safety is fulfilled both physically and documentation.
  • Attending and participating in live training events as required by GLF, clients and other agencies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment and work areas as needed.
  • Assisting with organizing resources required in both a response situation and in preparation for potential response, including but not limited to personnel, equipment, documentation, and necessary treatment methods.
  • Preforming chemical neutralization and decontamination as required.
  • Ensuring all relevant information and documentation is gathered accordingly and completed in emergency situations and daily activity as assigned.
  • Responding as required to spills including but not limited to rail, road, and fixed locations.
  • Provide or assist with vacuum truck and high-pressure water operations as required. Training post hiring can apply.

  • Valid AZ, DZ or AR Licence with a suitable Driver’s Abstract would be considered and asset but not required for employment consideration.

  • Operation of pickup trucks, utility trailers, forklifts, bobcats, etc. Post hire training may apply.
  • Ability to work shifts and on-call as required for emergency situations.
  • Physically and mentally fit and able to perform duties, wear required safety protective equipment and clothing.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain) would be an asset.
  • Strong work ethic and highly motivated, with the ability to work individually or in a team environment.
  • Courses and previous experience within HAZMAT, Tank Car Specialist, Tank Truck Specialist, ICS, CSE etc. would be considered assets.
  • Valid minimum of G Driver’s Licence.
