The Mechanical Engineer II will lead engineering tasks for large multi‑team development projects aimed at enhancing industrial door capabilities. Responsibilities include supporting new product development, collaborating with product leaders, project managers, and ECO liaisons, directing project activities, designing solutions per engineering change requests, performing finite element analysis, and working with vendors and manufacturing teams to create production‑ready designs and test documentation.
- Provide engineering support for new product development projects in a lead role.
- Interface with Product Group leader, Project Manager, ECO liaison, and other team members to enhance existing products.
- Provide direction to others relative to assigned project development activities.
- Design solutions that meet the specific needs or directives outlined in Engineering Change requests.
- Provide engineering and finite element analysis as required by the project scope.
- Work with vendors to facilitate communication and product development needs.
- Write test plans and quality documents.
- Generate manufacturing‑ready designs and collaborate with factory personnel to ensure capability alignment.
- Execute engineering analysis using high‑level accepted engineering practices.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 4–5 years of engineering experience in a heavy manufacturing environment. Candidates should have solid modeling expertise in SolidWorks, strong drafting skills, experience with stress analysis, and the ability to interpret complex documents, blueprints, and work instructions. A high mechanical aptitude, understanding of materials, advanced mathematical and analytical skills, and hands‑on experience developing test fixtures are also essential.
- Working knowledge of solid modeling using SolidWorks.
- Strong drafting ability with knowledge of dimensional call‑outs, tolerances, and symbols.
- Experience performing stress analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret complex documents, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Very high level of mechanical aptitude with a fundamental understanding of electrical systems.
- Understanding of material properties as they relate to engineering.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical publications and regulations; write reports, correspondence, and manuals; and present information to managers, customers, and the public.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and statistical techniques to engineering problems.
- Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems, handling abstract and concrete variables.
- Hands‑on ability to develop test fixtures and perform testing of design elements.
