

SGS provides inspection, verification, testing, and certification services across various industries.
Conduct soil, rock and concrete analysis in accordance with standards such as BS, ASTM and AASHTO. Perform tests including particle size distribution, Atterberg limits, Proctor compaction, moisture content, UCS, Point Load, Direct Shear, and other related tests on soil, rock, concrete and aggregates. Ensure accuracy and repeatability of results through careful calibration and maintenance of lab equipment. Conduct on‑site material testing to assess field conditions and compliance with design requirements, including field density, in‑situ CBR, infiltration, packer and plate load tests, and report findings to site engineers and supervisors. Implement the Quality Management System effectively, verify laboratory testing equipment, and prepare factual reports based on test results and field conditions.
Candidates should hold a diploma or degree in civil engineering, soil mechanics, geology or a related field. They need a minimum of 2‑4 years’ experience as a soil lab technician in an ISO 17025:2017 accredited geotechnical laboratory, with experience in both laboratory and field testing of geotechnical or construction materials. Familiarity with BS, ASTM and AASHTO standards and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required, and a valid UAE driving licence is preferred.
