- Performing QA/QC of distribution line designs and construction packages prepared by other designers.
- Report to client office or Halff office daily
- Acts as customer point-of-contact throughout the work management process by receiving and responding to customer phone calls and emails. Will need to update tracking system.
- Mentoring, and/or training Designers, CADD Technicians and administrative staff.
- Work with the Project Managers and other associated teams to meet deadlines, aid in engineering decisions, and collaborate on Projects.
- Assisting in the development of distribution engineering design philosophies, standards, details, and specifications.
- Meet for preconstruction meetings and/or any issues that may occur during construction.
- Perform electric power calculations for determining capacity and effective sizing of distribution material and equipment.
- Preparing designs, construction packages, and bills of material for progressively complex distribution line projects and providing engineering support to the full project life cycle from concept through construction to as-builts.
- Prepare mockups and designs as needed
- Performing on-site visits as necessary for determining routes, staking, right-of-way requirements, locates, and identifying all existing conditions in preparation for designs.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to conduct distribution pole loading analysis to ensure proper pole sizing.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with CAD-based or GIS-based design tools for electric power infrastructure.
- Distribution system analysis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Confident interacting closely with clients, management, and design teams.
- Experience applying relative industry codes and standards, including NESC and NEC.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years or more experience designing distribution designs for both overhead and underground electric distribution lines.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods.
- Associate's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or engineering technology.
- Knowledge of electrical theory and related power calculations.
- Applied knowledge of design and construction standards and requirements
- Ability to perform related structural calculations such as guying and cable pulling.
- State, federal, and local permitting
- Located within proximity to one of our Halff offices in the Princeton, Texas area.
- Rigorous quality assurance and quality control measures to ensure excellence.
- High-level of interpersonal relationship, communications, facilitation, team building, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to perform sag and tension calculation to ensure proper line clearance and install tension.
- More than two decades of expertise in the electric utility industry with a deep understanding and proficiency in electric power.
- Proficient in creating plan and profile distribution designs in AutoCAD.
