  • Attends and conducts staff meetings to communicate pertinent information to the team regarding Company issues, and ongoing maintenance projects, and/or work schedules.
  • Keeps plant management abreast of pertinent plant and regulatory issues.
  • Responsible for ensuring the enforcement of and compliance with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and code of ethics, as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations, include employment, safety, and environmental standards and regulations.
  • Coordinates, plans, and prepares equipment maintenance schedules.

  • Plans and coordinates the purchase of necessary equipment, tools, and materials necessary to perform maintenance.
  • Leads the assigned team to accomplish goals and objectives, provides continuous feedback and coaching on performance expectations.
  • Develops effective practices and procedures and prepares recommendations for appropriate policies and procedures to the plant management team.

  • Supervises, reviews, and coordinates the maintenance of various power plant equipment such as instruments and controls, environmental air monitoring equipment, and electrical equipment.
  • Enforces and assures compliance with the Union Bargaining Agreement and resolution of grievances.
  • Maintains maintenance reports, equipment status reports, and other related reports.
  • Inspects and assures timely completion of work and maintenance meets quality standards.
  • Assists with the preparation and monitoring of the section's budget.
  • Conducts and oversees safety training and assures the team receives other necessary training pertinent to the job.

  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures and practices, operation of power plant equipment, including boilers, steam and gas turbines, generators and auxiliary equipment, electronic and pneumatic control systems, analog and digital electronics, electric motors, switchgear and related equipment, DCS's (Foxboro, Rockwell, Netmation, Ovation, GE Mark VI), and safety procedures and practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with officers, managers, fellow employees, and the general public.
  • Valid driver's license and be in compliance with the Company's Driving Program policy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to: organize, coordinate, and schedule various projects; interpret union contracts; prepare comprehensive reports; develop new procedures and techniques to expedite requests from internal and external customers.
