Key responsibilities include monitoring energy consumption, overseeing the creation of consumption reports, and participating as an auditor in the corporate energy reduction program. The Director recommends and implements conservation projects involving electricity, natural gas, propane, and water, and evaluates mechanical and electrical system modifications.
The role also reviews maintenance, renovation, and new construction projects for energy efficiency, oversees the implementation of Energy Cost Saving Measures, and forecasts future utility use for multi-year budgeting. Partnership with energy providers, resolution of utility service issues, and conducting facility condition assessments and energy audits are essential duties.
The Director implements and maintains utility tracking databases, monitors greenhouse gas emissions and other sustainability metrics, analyzes trends to identify overages and savings opportunities, and provides technical support to ensure regulatory and company compliance. Domestic travel may be required.
This hybrid role requires three days onsite in Brentwood, TN. The Director provides primary leadership in managing utility-related activities and developing energy strategies, including efficiency projects and improvements in operational and maintenance practices across all facilities.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field) from an accredited institution, and at least four years of progressive energy engineering experience; additional experience may substitute for education. Candidates must possess extensive knowledge of commercial and industrial energy engineering, utility cost analysis, life-cycle cost analysis, and facility management, as well as demonstrated leadership abilities and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
