Prepares special reports, cost estimates, standards and specifications and fee schedules for consultant engineers, surveyors or contractors;
Acts as liaison with other operating units, agencies and outside officials regarding unit policies and procedures;

principles and practices involved in transportation engineering such as bridge design, foundations, highway design, transportation facilities design, transportation planning, drainage or hydraulics, research, pavement design, pavement management, traffic and utilities;
Incumbents must possess Professional Engineer (PE) licensure from the Department of Consumer Protection State Board of Examiners for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors consistent with C.G.S.
Office of Property and Facilities: Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a Building Official license issued by the Connecticut Department of Public Safety.
Experience coordinating and interacting with staff throughout the Department at all levels and familiarity with Department organization
Experience interpreting and applying principles of information systems and technologies for data driven decisions to manage pavement assets
Experience with roadside safety hardware development and approval, and new product evaluation
Experience with interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and presentation skills
oral and written communication skills;
Incumbents in this class may be required to possess and retain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
Experience leading, mentoring, evaluating and developing improved performance of engineers
