Key responsibilities include technical delivery and coordination for complex water and wastewater projects, producing and reviewing engineering calculations, civil designs, specifications, layouts and drawings, and ensuring compliance with standards, health & safety and CDM regulations. The role also involves leading a sizable team, estimating design costs, supporting discipline leads, and managing design risk and environmental considerations.
- Lead technical delivery and project coordination for complex water and wastewater treatment projects across multiple disciplines.
- Produce and review engineering calculations, including hydraulic, structural, and carbon analyses.
- Design civil works such as treatment plants, pumping stations, gravity mains, underground piping, earthworks and drainage systems.
- Generate site-wide layouts, road access plans and general arrangement drawings for each process unit.
- Support civil discipline leads in health & safety excellence and ensure CDM compliance.
- Provide cost estimates for design work and maintain design budgets.
- Conduct design meetings, share cross‑discipline information and ensure adherence to Minimum Asset Standard and other specifications.
- Maintain quality and consistency of civil engineering documents and oversee proper checking and approval.
- Communicate technical expectations across all levels and promptly escalate issues affecting time, cost or quality.
- Manage design risks, assumptions and environmental considerations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead post‑project reviews to capture lessons learned and best practices.
- Identify and propose improvements to client systems and procedures.

The role provides the opportunity to work on significant global water and wastewater treatment projects. The successful candidate will have proven project team leadership experience, a strong technical background, and the acumen to deliver projects to quality, budget and schedule targets while combining managerial and technical responsibilities.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with 12‑15+ years of progressive design experience on municipal water/wastewater projects. Chartered Engineer status (ICE/CIWEM) is preferred, along with familiarity with British, Euro and other international standards, strong client liaison and mentoring abilities, and excellent communication skills.
Proficiency in industry software such as Civil 3D, Revit Plant 3D, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office suite, Bentley ProjectWise, BIM 360 and ACC is required. The position is based in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Noida or Ahmedabad, with flexible working arrangements available.
