HR Generalist

Description

In this fast‑paced position, the HR Generalist will handle performance management, employee documentation, and onboarding and offboarding processes. Responsibilities also include ensuring time‑and‑attendance compliance with California regulations, assisting recruiting efforts, conducting data analysis for audits and compensation reviews, and contributing to policy development and training initiatives. Collaboration with the broader HR team on projects and process improvements is also required.

• Support performance management, reporting, and track terminations and employee relations activity.
• Draft and maintain employee documents such as offer letters, shift differential letters, and certification increase letters.
• Manage onboarding, offboarding, and overall employee lifecycle processes.
• Direct employees to self‑serve tools for questions, concerns, and grievances.
• Coordinate with managers, payroll, and shared services on employee separations and conduct exit interviews.
• Track and administer time and attendance, ensuring compliance with California meal and rest period requirements and resolve discrepancies.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to conduct first‑level interviews, screen candidates, and manage recruiting logistics.
• Perform data analysis for internal audits and compensation reviews.
• Assist in HR policy development, progressive discipline, and deliver training for frontline leaders and skip‑level sessions.
• Receive and process mail from lab locations, maintaining compliance with company procedures and regulations.
• Collaborate on HR projects, process improvements, and policy generation as needed.

Requirements

Candidates should hold a BS/BA in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline and possess proven experience as an HR Generalist or in HR Operations/Shared Services. Essential skills include knowledge of California meal and rest break compliance, strong verbal and written communication, meticulous organizational abilities, and the capacity to thrive under pressure. Proficiency with MS Office and HRIS platforms such as D365 and Ceridian is required, and up to 15% travel may be expected.

• BS/BA in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Proven experience as an HR Generalist or in HR Operations/Shared Services.
• Knowledge of time‑and‑attendance systems and California meal/rest break compliance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office and HRIS platforms such as D365 and Ceridian.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.
