What you would be doing

  • Assist with the structural analysis and/or design of Bridges (Highway & Railroad), Culverts, Retaining Walls, and Overhead Sign Structures on a variety of projects (bridge replacement/rehabilitation, highway improvement, etc.); this includes multi-disciplinary projects for DDOT, MDSHA, MDTA, DelDOT, PennDOT, VDOT and other agencies/bridge owners throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region and CONUS.
  • Produce high-quality technical writing for use in bridge inspection reports, specifications, studies, and other engineering documents.
  • Perform NBIS Bridge inspections in Maryland as well as the surrounding states (with occasional opportunities for domestic travel).

  • Microstation or AutoCAD experience
  • Proficiency on basic office software applications, especially Microsoft Office 365.
  • Proven ability to learn and apply new skills while simultaneously seeking / seizing opportunities to improve work products.
  • FE / EIT Required
  • Exposure to modeling tools, especially BrIM or BIM work processes, is a plus.
  • Willingness to interact in the Engineering community at large via membership in relevant professional societies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline (e.g.: Structural Engineering, etc.).
  • Exposure to structural analysis programs (e.g.: STAAD, LEAP Bridge, LEAP Concrete, AASHTOWare, BrR, BRASS, SAP/CSI, etc.) is a plus!
  • Bridge inspection experience, especially with technical writing for reports, is a plus.
  • GIS experience a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills, especially with a proven ability to work in an energetic and challenging work environment on a variety of projects; this person will be expected to collaborate with our team while demonstrating a self-motivated demeanor and effective multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
