We are looking for a proven Project Executive to join our Alternative Delivery team. This senior level position leads projects from initial pursuit through contract execution and delivery, managing proposals, budgeting, scheduling, design coordination, subcontractor procurement, client relations, and construction operations to final completion. The role oversees on-site project teams, ensuring safety, quality, and financial performance across alternative delivery projects using CMGC, Progressive Design-Build, and Design-Build contract methods. The Project Executive is responsible for the direction of large revenue projects, establishes project objectives and policies, maintains liaison with owners and JV partners, and monitors construction and financial activities through the dedicated project management team.
- Take an active role in managing owner relationships and business development.
- Assist in reviewing and negotiating contracts and change orders; liaise with executive management as appropriate.
- Lead RFQ/RFP strategy, proposal development, and technical submissions
- Navigate permitting processes and coordinate with regulatory agencies
- Managing subcontractors and project team (subordinates)
- Anticipate project needs with sufficient lead-time to avoid delay of production
- Maintain accurate forecasting and management of budgets
- Manage the preparation of change orders and claims
- Develop and manage project schedules and critical path analysis
- Identify and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers, including exclusive agreements
- Oversee document control and coordination of subcontractors
- Conduct site evaluations with SMEs and estimators
- Provide positive safety and quality control management to the project
- Collaborate with design management to align scope with budget and schedule
- Review all major correspondence prepared by project team prior to submission to the Owner.
- Assemble key personnel for the project
- Collaborate with Alternative Delivery group management, Business Development and Design Management to select design consultants and JV partners
- Lead client communications and maintain satisfaction throughout procurement
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in line with company policies
- Develop conceptual budgets and detailed cost estimates; manage risk registers
- Represent Griffith Company and lead projects with a “project first” mindset
- Mentor and manage Project Engineers, Project Managers and Interns as assigned.
- Review and negotiate owner contracts with legal counsel
- Prepare and negotiate time-related overhead
- Project planning, scheduling and coordination of large-scale projects
- Provide support and technical advice to project personnel to resolve problems proactively.

- 5+ years in preconstruction and estimating for alternative delivery projects
- Must have a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills
- Must have a strong knowledge of Alternative Delivery Projects
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be proficient in project projections
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree would be preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience. Professional Engineer licenses desired.
- Must be proficient in identifying changes on projects
- 10+ years in operations and project management of large-scale ($100M+) civil projects
- Frequently required to stand and walk at construction jobsites
- Must have an understanding of time impact analysis and time related overhead
- Highly Organized
- Must have a thorough understanding of estimating
- Must understand critical path and tracking project delays
- 25+ years of construction experience
- Time Management
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with agencies such as USACE, LA Metro and Caltrans
- Problem Solving/Analysis
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Communication Proficiency (Verbal & Written)
- 10+ years of alternative delivery project experience
- Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management, and people leadership
- Frequently required to sit for extended periods of time
- Knowledge of public contract code
- Must frequently lift and move up to 20 pounds.
- Excellent writing, presentation, and computer skills
- An understanding of production is required
