The Production Manager role at the Sumas plant is a hands‑on, leadership‑driven position responsible for overseeing plant operations. The role requires cross‑functional collaboration with Quality, Maintenance, HR, and Logistics, and emphasizes Lean/continuous improvement, employee development, and operational excellence.
- Lead and coach production supervisors and staff to achieve safety, environmental, quality, cost, and service targets.
- Partner with Quality Control to ensure finished products meet customer requirements through continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Maintenance to maintain equipment reliability, optimal efficiency, and cost‑effectiveness, including TPM involvement.
- Work with Shipping and Receiving to optimize the manufacturing schedule and adjust for cost‑effective customer service.
- Foster a highly engaged workforce and coordinate with HR on performance management, staffing, and employee development.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing tools such as Kaizen events with production and maintenance teams.
- Ensure effective employee training in quality, safety, and processes is completed.
- Mentor direct reports to build an accountable team that meets performance goals.
- Implement and sustain 5S housekeeping standards.

Candidates must hold a technical four‑year degree and have at least five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification is a plus, and strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills are essential.
