Charge Up Operators are responsible for operating underground production charging units to deliver bulk explosives safely and productively. Core duties include magazine management, routine inspections, minor maintenance of fixed and mobile plants, and supporting the Drill and Blast Team while mentoring new teammates. All activities must reflect Orica’s value that safety is always the priority, conducted with integrity and respect.
The company is hiring both Experienced and Trainee Charge Up Operators for various sites in South Australia. Positions operate on a FIFO (from Adelaide) or DIDO arrangement, following an 8‑day on, 6‑day off roster.
Candidates must hold a Heavy Rigid (HR) vehicle licence and be able to obtain a national police clearance. A strong commitment to safety, health, and the environment is essential, and basic mechanical comprehension is advantageous. Prior experience operating heavy plant, equipment, or machinery is beneficial but not required.
