- Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
- Use data and analytics to improve logistics processes and service quality.
- Develop and implement routing and scheduling strategies to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage the maintenance and utilization of company vehicles and equipment.
- Oversee driver qualification files, hours-of-service logs, and vehicle inspection records.
- Monitor carrier performance and ensure service-level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and other transportation-related regulations.
- Develop and manage the transportation budget, controlling costs related to fuel, labor, and maintenance.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate transportation staff, including drivers, dispatchers, and logistics coordinators.
- Generate transportation performance reports, including on-time delivery rates, fuel consumption, and route efficiency.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor the transportation of products to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Analyze freight costs and performance metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities.

- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) may be a plus
- Office and warehouse environment with occasional travel to distribution centers or customer locations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Certified Transportation Professional (CTP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software tools.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in transportation or logistics management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and route optimization software.
- Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations.
