  • Responsible for ensuring initiatives is carried out according to standards, recommends policies and procedures.
  • Strictly follows the Change Management policies to avoid the business impact, actively participates in critical incident resolution and problem management process.
  • Leads, plans, coordinates and provides activities associated with SAP Basis technology from inception to competition.
  • Actively participates in IT strategic planning and other IT leadership processes as required.
  • Oversees external vendors/resources.
  • Performs as the technical subject matter expert in managing complex/multiple SAP landscapes for production support and projects to meet SLA's. Manages preventive maintenance for the SAP systems including patching, upgrades, performance management, etc.
  • Identifies and evaluates new technologies/services and establish/recommended strategic direction. Find solutions to complex technology issues, providing direction as required. Stay current on technologies within assigned technical area.
  • Provides technical leadership to projects, teams, and business initiatives as required. Accountable to work with project teams (internal and external) and management to resolve technical issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Enforces SAP best practices on supported environments. Follows IT Security, Compliance and Audit guidelines and addresses the gaps.
  • Mentors staff on technical subjects and business-related information.
  • Manages medium/large scale SAP implementation projects, upgrades, migrations etc.
  • Works collaboratively with the business area and IT management team and staff in the development and maintenance of business applications/solutions.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with SAP systems upgrades and migrations.
  • Relevant work experience to include 8 years or more working in designing and building SAP system landscapes, and Basis experience in the build and support of SAP systems including ECC, CRM, BW, PO, BOBJ, and HANA.
  • Requires knowledge of OS (Unix/Linux) and DB (HANA, Oracle).
  • Able to adjust priorities in a dynamic fashion to account for changes in business needs.
  • Knowledgeable of related products and technologies and understand systems integration. Understands the value and impact of SAP technology as it applies to business processes.
  • Prior leadership and management skills.
  • Experience with Backup and Recovery of SAP systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level.
  • The ability to proactively identify innovative solutions to challenging problems and explain complex concepts and risk both simply and accurately to non-technical users.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities, challenging and rigid deadlines and technologies.
  • Strong service delivery experience within IT.
  • Experience with SAP systems refreshes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field with a minimum 10 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with Solution Manager setup and configuration.
  • Able to work with management team counterparts to meet priorities and resolve issues.
  • SAP certification.
  • Experience with Cloud infrastructure and migrations.
  • Experience with High Availability and DR setup and testing of SAP systems.
  • Experience with full lifecycle projects of SAP ERP systems.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technological trends and utilizes this knowledge to educate both IT and the business community to better utilize SAP solutions that support and drive business decisions.
  • Experience with S/4HANA migration/transformation.
