* Develop long run marginal costs for both generation and transmission.

* Develop load resource balances for the BC Hydro system and for sub-regions within the system taking into consideration transmission planning criteria.

* Work with engineers in transmission planning to provide technical insights on the integration of renewable energy resources (e.g., wind, solar, hydro) from a transmission system perspective.

* Participate in cross-functional teams and working groups to align planning efforts across departments.

* Develop and evaluate non-wires alternatives (NWAs) to traditional transmission and distribution infrastructure. NWAs would include distributed energy resources, demand-side management, and energy storage.

* Support regulatory filings and engagement processes related to transmission and resource planning.

* Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Don't forget to update your Candidate Profile with your current resume and copies of your certifications. If applicable, include your Trades Qualification. This will ensure we have all the necessary information to assess your application without any delays.

* Prepare generation resource data for transmission studies and participate in results verification.

* Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies and trends in transmission and energy systems.

* Ensure planning activities align with BC Hydro’s safety, sustainability, and Indigenous engagement principles.

* Identify and assess transmission resource options for long-term system planning.
