Description

The Systems Specialist operates largely independently to ensure HVAC control systems are reliable and well‑documented, handling all phases from installation through service.

Within Albireo Energy, the specialist leads building automation initiatives, covering both new builds and retrofits, and sustains system performance through regular upkeep.

A key aspect of the role is interfacing with customers, providing training, updates, and recommendations while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Continuous learning and certification are expected, alongside timely submission of electronic records and reports.

• Conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and commissioning of HVAC control systems.
• Perform point‑to‑point checkout and device verification after installation.
• Execute start‑up, testing, diagnostics, and commissioning for new and retrofit building automation projects.
• Provide preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control component issues and replace faulty parts.
• Diagnose and resolve networking and integration problems in complex control systems.
• Write, load, test, and commission programming software and graphics using various languages.
• Communicate with customers on‑site, provide status updates, and recommend enhancements or upgrades.
• Deliver customer training on control system operation and issue training certificates.
• Compile and submit commissioning documentation, punch lists, and control submittal mark‑ups.
• Coordinate activities with service managers, project managers, and subcontractors professionally.
• Support sales by offering technical recommendations for retrofits, upgrades, and proposals.

Requirements

The position requires technical education, relevant field experience, strong communication abilities, and a clean driver’s license.

• Vocational school or associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, HVAC, or related field.
• 1‑3 years progressive experience servicing electronic controls and HVAC equipment.
• Ability to coordinate work across multiple job sites and lead other technicians.
• Proficiency in computer programming and software applications relevant to HVAC industry.
• Strong interpersonal and ethical customer‑facing skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to load and update software on network and field controllers, computers, and servers.
