The Regional Director will lead the Cost Management consultancy team serving the North of England, overseeing a mix of senior Cost Managers, Project Directors, and Associates. The role combines market‑facing business development across public sectors such as healthcare, education, and defence, as well as private commercial clients, while ensuring technical delivery and client relationship management.
Key responsibilities include providing leadership for the cost‑management practice, line‑managing and mentoring team members, driving recruitment and retention, and overseeing project finances, resources, audits, and reviews across the portfolio. The director will also ensure staff receive relevant training, support professional chartership, manage client account frameworks, lead cross‑discipline commissions, pursue business development opportunities, and coordinate bid and fee proposals through internal governance processes.
Candidates must have extensive cost‑management experience in a construction consultancy, proven leadership at a project‑management level, and a track record of winning new and repeat business. Required skills include delivering complex projects, expertise in pre‑ and post‑contract services, strong client networks, excellent communication and organisational abilities, and a construction‑related degree with chartered status (RICS, CIOB, or APM). NEC4 accreditation is preferred.
