Overview

Design and analysis of CANDU reactor mechanical components and pressure boundaries

Tasks

-Coordinate and interface with client, suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines or department to execute assigned engineering work. -Provide prompt response and engineering resolutions on any critical engineering related matters. -Provide accurate reporting of engineering work to technical and project managers. -Engineering calculations to support design nuclear pressure boundary components. -Perform engineering work following AtkinsRéalis/CANDU Energy Quality Assurance programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulation requirements. -Preparation of formal technical reports. -Review of design documents, calculations, and analysis reports. -Design analysis of CANDU reactor components, systems and structures including mechanical equipment. -Execute engineering activities within budget and schedule.

What You Bring

-At least 3 years of related work experience in the field of design and analysis of complex mechanical systems or equipment (knowledge of CANDU nuclear systems would be an asset). -Experience with programming languages (Python or MATLAB) -Experience in finite element analysis using ANSYS/APDL -Good time management skills. -Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. -Registered as an Engineer-In-Training or eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. -Strong written and oral communication skills. -Familiarity with ASME Section III pressure boundary design and CSA N285.0. -Experience in classical stress calculation. -Ability to work under the supervision a senior analyst/engineer/lead and demonstrate problem-solving skills. -A bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from a university of recognized standing.
