- Place a mid-sheath spliceÂ
- Submit daily time cards for crew membersÂ
- Follow all safety rules and regulationsÂ
- Pull fiber when neededÂ
- Drive and properly use a bucket truckÂ
- Test and troubleshoot fiber using an OTDRÂ
- Fill out audit sheets per location (per splice)Â
- Clean, maintain, stock, and secure assigned vehicle and equipment dailyÂ
- Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriersÂ
- Prepare splice locations, termination points, and installation of splice closuresÂ
- Flagging traffic when requiredÂ
- Identify issues with fiber using red lightÂ
- Update job completion sheetÂ
- Construct proper splice casesÂ
- Operate splicing equipmentÂ
- Install and repair fiber optics.

- Possess a valid driver's license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position.
- Asist in splicingÂ
- Pre-Trip vehicle inspection (daily)Â
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Willing and able to work in all weather conditions.
- Knowledge of fiber optic color code and numbers associated
- Ability to travel.
- Experience splicing fiber including all necessary steps
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
- 2-3 years' experience splicing fiber
- Ability to work flexible hours, which may include nights and weekends
- Flexibility to work in multiple locationsÂ
- Splice loose tube fiberÂ
- Basic knowledge of and ability to hand tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance
- Able to perform all duties in fiber optic construction
- Ability to work at night /various hours.Â
- A good driving record is required.
- Previous fiber experience, preferably in the telecommunication industry.
- Understanding of terminology used in fiber splicing
- Class A Commercial Driver's License is a plus (Higher wage scales apply to CDL holders).
- Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner.
