  • Participate in plant troubleshooting by analyzing relevant data sets
  • Improve the existing suite of proprietary calculation tools
  • Develop gas, water, and solids mass and energy balances
  • Work in accordance with the Midrex Code of Ethics and ISO requirements
  • Assist in the analysis and development of new flowsheets and equipment designs
  • Document work, including through the issuance of internal technical reports
  • Develop process modeling and data analysis programs (Python, C++, or Excel) under the supervision of a chemical engineer in collaboration with software engineers

  • Computer science experience strongly preferred
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong understanding of heat and mass transfer, reaction kinetics, and thermodynamics as it relates to equilibrium
  • Experience with computer programming (any language)
  • Strong critical/analytical thinking and problem solving
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals
  • Pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in chemical engineering or related field
  • Familiarity with statistics and machine learning. Experience with tools such as scikit-learn would be a plus
  • Experience with Process Modeling software such as Aspen Plus or similar
  • Proficient in Python, C++ in the Visual Studio development environment, git, Markdown
  • Minimum 3.5 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate) cumulative GPA
  • Ability to perform calculations in the field of Chemical Engineering
