- Ensure the Rest Stop remains clean, safe, and welcoming at all times.
- Schedule and manage patron appointments for showers and laundry.
- Monitor facility usage and patron behavior, providing assistance as needed.
- Distribute personal care items and towels, tracking use per agency procedures.
- Enforce Rest Stop rules, mediate conflicts, and de‑escalate situations.
- Document incidents in the Daily Log and submit reports to the URS Manager.
- Provide patrons with information about community resources and coordinate with agencies.
- Maintain daily logs, incident reports, and a patron database; restock supplies and manage inventory.
- Perform daily cleaning duties following the schedule, including spot and emergency cleaning.
- Report maintenance or repair concerns and work with the Team Leader and volunteers.
- Follow PPE protocols and wear a mask while on‑site.

- Read, write, and communicate in English; possess at least one year of relevant experience.
- Demonstrate ability to work respectfully with diverse populations in a fast‑paced environment.
- Basic computer skills; ability to use Safe Harbors database preferred.

- Complete First Aid/CPR certification after 90 days of employment.

Our Urban Rest Stop hygiene centers provide people experiencing homelessness access to showers, toiletries, and laundry services in a clean, safe, respectful environment. As an Urban Rest Stop team member, you will provide onsite support to patrons, with the role divided roughly 25% customer service, 10% administrative/computer work, and 65% cleaning.
This is a non‑exempt, unionized position (OPEIU 8) with a pay range of $21.90‑$29.38, working full‑time Monday‑Friday, 6 am‑3 pm at the URS Downtown location.
