- Set strategy for how we build and deliver recommendation systems, personalization, and analytics across high-traffic consumer marketplaces.
- Guide architectural decisions and ensure technical quality, without being hands-on in the code.
- Oversee development and execution of scalable data pipelines, APIs, and machine learning models that support performance, reliability, and user engagement at scale.
- Partner with technical leads across the organization to align on architecture, timelines, and execution plans.
- Track progress, remove blockers, and ensure teams are aligned and delivering on objectives.
- Work closely with product leadership to understand goals and translate them into technical plans the teams can execute.

- Experience with real-time data pipelines and performance-sensitive systems.
- Experienced in coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver aligned product and engineering outcomes.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited, not-for-profit university or college.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining a collaborative, high-performance, and positive team culture.
- Proven ability to collaborate across product and engineering to translate business goals into scalable, production-ready systems.
- Experience managing managers or leading multiple teams.
- Background in consumer marketplaces or other high-volume, user-facing platforms.
- Track record of leading teams that ship reliable, scalable, and performant software.
- Experience building recommendation systems or personalization features at scale.
- Expertise with cloud architectures, especially in AWS and Databricks.
- Strong software engineering foundation with a focus on production systems and delivery.
- Proven ability to deliver scalable systems for high-traffic consumer-facing applications.
- Experience identifying opportunities to apply AI to improve product features, decision-making, and internal workflows.
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning, analytics, or data infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- A track record of commitment to prior employers.
- Strong foundation in software engineering principles, with a focus on building and delivering production systems.
