The IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) serves as the critical bridge between IT and business functions, leading efforts to modernize processes, drive value, and meet stakeholder needs through technology. The role oversees the full lifecycle of IT service delivery—from ideation and scope definition to implementation, training, hyper‑care, and ongoing support—ensuring business priorities are clearly translated into IT actions.
The BRM is tasked with transforming IT from an order‑taker to a proactive business partner, requiring high energy, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, and a detail‑oriented, process‑focused mindset. Success depends on continuously identifying improvement opportunities, leveraging technology to automate and streamline processes, and maintaining accountability while navigating ambiguous situations.
Key duties include partnering with functional leaders to modernize data usage, defining and executing digital transformation initiatives, and acting as the single point of contact for all IT needs of the supported functions. The BRM must manage projects to meet business priorities, monitor incidents, communicate status and risks consistently, and act as a change agent across a matrixed organization. Additional responsibilities cover innovation, program leadership, relationship management, promoting a data‑first culture, supporting compliance activities, and driving continuous improvement using methodologies such as Lean, ITIL, and Six Sigma.
Candidates need at least ten years of experience leading large‑scale systems projects, strong relationship‑building skills, and preferably manufacturing industry exposure. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, experience with ERP integrations, and familiarity with Oracle, PLM, EDI, or MES. The role also demands excellent negotiation, project management, communication, and strategic thinking abilities, as well as a high ethical standard and compliance with ITAR regulations.
