Staff development responsibilities involve mentoring wastewater staff, assigning projects to build skills, recruiting new talent, and coordinating staffing plans. The leader will work with regional and water‑business directors to drive technical excellence, support the Drive to Zero initiative, and identify gaps that require new investments in people or technology.
Support for key program and project delivery includes guiding client management, overseeing QA/QC processes, reviewing contracts for risk, facilitating work‑sharing, and promoting lessons‑learned. The lead will also take on project management and principal‑in‑charge roles to ensure client satisfaction and staff growth.
The NY/NJ Area Wastewater Market Sector Lead will steer growth and development of the wastewater market in New York and New Jersey, covering treatment, effluent management, pump stations, pipelines, biosolids, and One Water collaborations. The role combines business development, client and project management, technical input, and staff development, requiring strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.
Preferred qualifications include a BS in engineering, professional engineering registration in NY or NJ, and more than ten years of experience in wastewater planning, design, and construction. Candidates should have strong technical expertise, established client relationships in the NY/NJ market, experience in strategic positioning, and a visible presence in industry associations.
Required qualifications also call for a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, at least ten years of industry experience, and demonstrated ability to develop and manage strategic marketing programs and client relationships.
