Contractor - Vehicle Testing Technical Administrator

Description

• Ensure compliance with quality management systems, and relevant vehicle testing regulations.
• Assist engineers in Quality Assurance and compiling and formatting test data into reports suitable for internal and external use.
• Act as key user for laboratory management systems.
• Manage logistics of vehicle deliveries and collections in conjunction with customers' requirements.
• Schedule and coordinate type-approval and development tests in collaboration with engineers and both internal and external stakeholders.
• Generate regular dashboards, status reports and test project trackers for ongoing projects.
• Identify opportunities to streamline administrative processes and improve efficiency.
• Maintain accurate register of equipment calibration information, working with the team to organise calibration activities.
• Support audits and inspections by preparing documentation and evidence as required.
• Assist Engineers with cost-trackers, highlighting budget statuses when required.
• Monitor calibration schedules, equipment records, and laboratory resources.
• Raising of purchase orders and engaging key procurement stakeholders.
• Support the preparation and submission of technical files to regulatory authorities and customers.
• Manage document control systems, ensuring controlled distribution and archiving of test procedures and results.
• Prepare and issue test requests, and other related process-documentation required to conduct testing in accordance with customer requirements.
• Track the progress of tests, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.

Requirements

• Technical literacy and ability to understand engineering/test-related documentation.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document management systems.
• Experience in an automotive, engineering, or laboratory environment.
• Professional and discreet when handling sensitive technical and regulatory information.
• Proactive and solution-oriented.
• Familiarity with type-approval testing, certification, or regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 or ISO 9001 standards.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Previous experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or quality management tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Methodical and process-driven, with the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies.
