This position offers the opportunity to utilize and expand drafting skills while collaborating with a multi‑disciplined team of designers and engineers to produce design drawings based on project input. You will apply computer‑aided drafting techniques using AutoCAD 3D and/or MicroStation, and receive hands‑on training in these 3D design environments. The role involves creating master scale sketches that depict the relationship of proposed installations to existing facilities, including exact specifications and dimensions. You may also accompany experienced designers on client walkdowns to gather information and interface with vendors and contractors to explain drawings and facilitate design adjustments.
Candidates must have an Associate's Degree in drafting or a high school diploma combined with equivalent technical design experience, and demonstrate advanced drafting proficiency with standard tools such as AutoCAD or MicroStation. The ability to visualize parts in 3D without computer aid and to multitask across multiple projects is required. Preferred but not mandatory skills include knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing technical plans, drawings, and models, as well as an understanding of engineering science to relate equipment to technical designs.
