Tasks
-Review drawings and specifications thoroughly; prepare and submit RFIs as needed. -Participate in project handoff meetings with operations and project management teams upon -Obtain material pricing and vendor quotes through approved distribution channels. -Develop clear scope of work and accurate bill of materials. -Perform full material and labor take-offs based on project RFP documentation. -Evaluate and document risk factors for each project bid. -Source and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes. -Create and submit professional, competitive proposals to clients. -Use estimating software and company databases to analyze costs and create detailed estimates. -Work on a variety of challenging and rewarding electrical projects across commercial and industrial sectors. -Conduct follow-ups with clients on outstanding proposals.

Bertke Electric, a leader in commercial and industrial electrical contracting since 1928, is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our Cincinnati-based team. This role involves preparing detailed cost estimates, interpreting project documentation, collaborating with project managers and clients, and ensuring that all electrical aspects of assigned projects are accurately priced, competitive, and aligned with client expectations and project timelines. The ideal candidate will bring strong estimating skills and a background in electrical systems for commercial and industrial facilities. Familiarity with electrical code requirements, value engineering, and risk management is essential. -High school diploma or equivalent required. -Experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional construction projects is a plus. -Experience with estimating software (Accubid) strongly desired. -Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Business, or related field preferred. -Strong mathematical and analytical skills. -Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines effectively. -Formal training in estimating software is preferred. -Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably within commercial or industrial construction environments. -Clear communication and collaboration skills with both internal teams and external clients. -Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and construction methods. -Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; solid knowledge of Word, Teams, and other Microsoft Office applications.
