What you would be doing

  • Support and develop risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Lead monthly branch SHE meetings with senior management and contributing to client meetings where required.
  • Produce accurate and insightful reports and statistical analysis for branch and senior management.
  • Liaise with external bodies such as the Health & Safety Executive and SEPA, keeping senior management fully informed.
  • Ensure all audits and inspections are uploaded and maintained on the QA database.
  • Promote and deliver Mears’ health, safety, and wellbeing campaigns across the branch.
  • Deliver training, coaching, and mentoring to support operational teams.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and accident investigations, including RIDDOR reporting.

  • Strong knowledge of current SHE legislation, codes of practice, and best practice principles.
  • Exensive experience in a SHE management or senior advisory role.
  • Confident IT user – proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
  • A Full UK Driving Licence and flexibility to travel within your region.
  • CMIOSH or MIIRSM membership.
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and an Environmental Management qualification.
  • You must be a confident, engaging safety leader who thrives on improving standards, inspiring others, and embedding a culture of care and accountability.
  • Proven experience in supervising or leading teams within a SHE environment.
