Work with engineering leads and program managers to proactively find and address problems.
Evaluate and help purchase software licensing and overhead equipment such as monitors, electrical monitoring tools, boards, or signal convertors.
Interface with the Oceaneering Software Center of Excellence and other Oceaneering business units to ensure OTECH is following company procedures and best practices.
Support occasional travel needs.
Evaluate opportunities and provide go/no go assessments.
Write and help implement internal policies and procedures for the SSC group.
Assess work progress via events such as design reviews or Monthly Increment Program Reviews.
Review progress and evaluate results of work accomplished by self and others.
Functionally manage SSC members.
Function as SSC Manager when they are out of office.
Prepare reports and presents results to management and client.
Review proposal efforts including Statements of Work (SoW)/Performance Work Statements (PWS), Basis of Estimates (BoE) and Rough Orders of Magnitude (ROM).
Work with corporate IT to address issues and craft implementation for new capabilities/practices.
Contribute to policies and procedures external to the group (such as corporate software standards, quality, or engineering).
Monitor the quality of software work products (including DevOps) and proactively address areas of concern.
Participate in SSC hiring and resource allocation.

BS Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline. Commensurate experience will be considered.
Experience mentoring software engineers.
Solid written and oral communications skills, including ability to effectively document, convey, and present engineering issues to team members and customers.
Must be a US citizen.
Demonstrate ability to devise innovative solutions to problems when conventional solutions are insufficient.
Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Government Department of Defense Security Clearance.
Experience supporting government programs.
Understanding of CI/CD output from a metrics perspective. Including tools and environments such as: Github, Jira, Artifactory or Azure.
15+ years of practical experience supporting software needs for hardware-based products from an engineering and or management perspective.
Experience working with robotic or underwater systems.
