Yard Person

Description

SMT GB is looking for a proactive Yard Person to manage and organize its yard and outdoor storage areas. In this role you will maintain stock accessibility, arrange vehicles and equipment, and keep the yard tidy and safe. You will also support overall business operations by handling the physical layout of machinery and ensuring efficient yard flow.

• Wash and valet machines to a high standard before dispatch.
• Book in machines from the dock, inspect for damage, and park in allocated areas.
• Maximise yard space and implement effective storage solutions.
• Maintain a clean and tidy yard at all times.
• Safely load machinery onto low loaders for dispatch, coordinating with admin and transport drivers.
• Assist with booking and controlling courier movements, keeping accurate records of all items received or delivered.

Requirements

• Demonstrate experience in a similar yard or outdoor working environment.
• Show strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Hold a valid UK driving licence (desirable).
• Possess a forklift licence or other relevant certification (desirable).
