Description

The Casing Driller (Deep Foundation and Tie Back Driller) is a frontline team member responsible for drilling holes, monitoring their condition, and leading crews in the operation and care of drilling equipment. The role demands year‑round outdoor work, often in extreme weather, and involves strenuous physical labor while upholding high standards of reliability, punctuality, and work ethic.

• Perform essential maintenance tasks, such as greasing, to keep drilling equipment functional.
• Communicate effectively with the team and superintendents regarding maintenance needs and project updates.
• Apply knowledge of drill upkeep and preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and maintain cleanliness.
• Accurately complete drill logs and as‑built documentation.

Requirements

The position requires extensive travel throughout the Western US, following a 3‑weeks‑on, 1‑week‑off schedule, with an hourly wage of $28 to $35. Reasonable accommodations are provided for disabilities, and GSI is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to inclusive hiring practices.

• Work safely in loud environments while wearing required PPE.
• 3–5 years of geotechnical experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
• Ability to meet daily production targets and read/interpret blueprints.
• Willingness to travel up to three weeks at a time across the Western US.
• Proficiency in welding and knowledge of various tooling and drilling techniques.
• Ability to lift 50 lb+ and perform strenuous physical labor.
• Valid CDL (preferred).
• Managerial experience (preferred).
• Moderate noise levels; hearing protection often required.
• Exposure to typical construction site hazards and heavy lifting of 50 lb+ materials.
