Fire Alarm Inspector Trainee

Description

• Perform NFPA 72 based inspections on fire alarm systems and all components.
• Conduct basic troubleshooting of fire alarm systems.
• Monitor and assure progress and completion of assigned tasks.
• Complete and submit work tickets and inspection reports to administrative personnel promptly.
• Schedule daily inspections.
• Up‑sell company capabilities to new and existing customers.
• Perform inspections from man lifts at elevations of 30‑40 feet as needed.

Requirements

The Fire Alarm Inspector Trainee role focuses on performing NFPA‑based inspections of fire alarm systems. The goal is to grow inspection revenues while maintaining profits, meeting customer requirements, and staying compliant with NFPA guidelines. The position requires travel to customer sites and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, multitasked environment with emphasis on customer development, quality performance, and knowledge of relevant NFPA codes.

Significant experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

• High School Diploma or GED required (vocational or trade school a plus).
• Working knowledge of fire protection system operations.
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and articulating lifts; lift up to 100 lb.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain required certifications, including NICET.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and using tablets or smartphones.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to think strategically, make sound decisions, and produce accurate, timely results.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
