Sheet Metal Shop Technician - QH&A

Description

• Inspect finished products to verify they meet quality and customer standards.
• Form and shape metal using brakes, rollers, presses, and other fabrication equipment.
• Fabricate custom pieces tailored to specific project needs.
• Drill and punch holes for fittings and assembly purposes.
• Ensure all work adheres to company specifications and requirements.
• Follow all workplace safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Identify and report potential safety hazards or equipment malfunctions.
• Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Perform welding and soldering to join metal components.
• Maintain accurate records of materials used, tasks completed, and any project-specific notes.
• Repair and replace damaged or defective parts as needed.
• Assemble parts using rivets, screws, adhesives, and other fastening methods.
• Inspect assemblies to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and project plans.
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and engineers to meet production deadlines.
• Measure and cut sheet metal using tools such as shears, saws, and plasma cutters.
• Package and prepare items for shipping or on-site installation.

Requirements

• Knowledge of welding techniques and safety standards.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and fabrication machinery.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proven experience in metal fabrication, assembly, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
