  • Act as primary customer contact for all assigned projects
  • Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to project teams, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.

  • Use the appropriate level of forethought and planning in decision making to assure project success
  • Collaborate with business development teams to support proposal efforts and win new work.
  • Represent Mortenson in industry forums and client meetings as a thought leader in renewable energy construction.
  • Establish and implement project objective and procedures
  • Maintain project budgets, costs, and pricing, ensuring delivery of a profitable project.
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • Provide oversight and accountability for large project(s)
  • Provide high level management of quality, risk, safety, and compliance for the project and team members
  • Ensure projects meet or exceed safety, quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, change orders, and risk management strategies.
  • Lead the execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects from development through completion.
  • Monitor project financials, including cost forecasting, billing, and profitability analysis.
  • Preview proposals before submission and participate in Request for Proposal process
  • Develop team members for future career consideration and training opportunities
  • Manage contract administration including, but not limited to terms, change requests, invoices, and progress payments, etc.
  • Support business development initiatives in establishing and building on client relationships
  • Conduct key customer service visits throughout the project, from pre-construction client surveys to close-out, ensuring project commitments are met, and issues are resolved
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and community stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain successful customer and/or community relationships
  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance.

  • Experience in Energy Storage, Solar or Emerging Renewables, or electrical transmission and distribution fields
  • Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices

  • Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction management overseeing large projects ($70M+)
  • Current driver’s license
  • Proven ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects
