Assist field personnel in resolving unanticipated site conditions and construction issues.

Develop plans, specifications, and observation reports that are complete, accurate, and in accordance with sound engineering practices and aligned with our customer requirements and Mortenson’s best practice standards.
Works closely with and guide designers, drafters, and engineers.
Review and approval of equipment vendor drawings and test reports on equipment from manufacturers.
Development and evaluation of the technical requirements for fabrication and construction tender packages.
Responsible for the structural engineering aspects on substation design and pursuit projects.
Perform basic engineering calculations required for substation structural designs ranging from 4kV to 500 kV
Performs data analysis and basic engineering tasks for completion of of small to large complex projects.
Review plans and specifications for constructability, and safety.

Minimum two years related experience preferred.
Civil Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required.
Proficient in engineering theories, principles, and practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations.
Basic understanding of discipline specific technical designs, QA/QC procedures, and engineering policies.
Ability to travel up to 10%.

Graduate of four-year college or university with Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE preferred) with structural electives or related Engineering program. Strongly preferred the degree is from a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum.
Experience in RISA, Lpile, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, etc. preferred.
California PE license preferred.
Knowledge of engineering principles, business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
