The manager will develop and implement QC programs, supervise multiple QC teams, and conduct routine and specialized testing on raw materials and finished products. They will analyze test data, prepare reports for senior leadership, and drive continuous improvement through risk management and corrective actions. Collaboration with production, R&D, and supply chain teams will support process enhancements and regulatory compliance.
- Design and launch organization-wide QC programs and procedures.
- Oversee and coordinate QC teams across multiple facilities.
- Perform routine and specialized testing on raw materials and finished asphalt.
- Analyze test results and generate detailed quality reports for senior management.
- Lead risk‑management initiatives to prevent quality issues.
- Partner with production, R&D, and supply‑chain teams to implement process improvements.
- Ensure adherence to ASTM, AASHTO, FAA, and other regulatory standards.
- Support internal and external quality audits and certification processes.
- Manage the QC budget, including procurement of testing equipment and supplies.
- Provide training and development opportunities for QC staff.
- Execute corrective actions to resolve identified quality deficiencies.
- Stay current on industry trends and advanced QC methodologies.

A preferred Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required, along with 5‑10 years of QC experience in asphalt or construction materials. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills, proficiency with QC software and Microsoft Office, and in‑depth knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and FAA standards.
The position requires an IDOT HMA Level 1‑3 and PCC Level 1‑2 certification within 18 months, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain an Illinois PE license within five years. Compensation ranges from $100,000 to $140,000, and the role involves laboratory, office, and field work with frequent travel.
